Getting Discord on a computer to run through Bebra VPN takes three steps, and the last one is a voice check. If voice won’t connect, the cards below the steps cover the usual causes.
Computer setup
Install Bebra VPN
On a computer, the button at the top of this page picks the right file. There are versions for Windows, macOS and Linux, and the app creates an account for that computer by itself.
Click a country tile
Without a subscription, the Buy Bebra VPN window opens first. Bought a plan earlier? Choose Already have a subscription? → Sign in to account in that window. Once you’re subscribed, the tile lights up and the line under the header changes to Connected to, followed by the country and IP address.
Join a voice channel
Open Discord and join any voice channel. If the others can hear you, you’re done.
If something’s off
Voice is stuck on connecting
Some Bebra routes carry TCP only, and Discord sends voice over UDP. Click another country and rejoin the channel.
Others hear you late
The delay adds up over two stretches, from you to the Bebra server and from there to Discord’s voice server. A country between you and the people you talk to keeps both short.
Discord started before Bebra VPN
It can keep using its old connection, and closing the window leaves it running in the background. Quit Discord fully, then open it again.
Nothing loads, or the app says Bad connection
Click Fix the problem in the banner, or go to Account → Settings → Find working server. Within two minutes the app re-tests the server, gives it new IP addresses if needed and, as a last resort, turns on multihop.
When the outage is on Discord’s side, no country will fix it. Discord reports its outages at discordstatus.com.
Your PC and phone on one account
For Discord on a phone, install Bebra VPN there too, from the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android. It runs on the same subscription, and there’s no limit on devices.
