A server in Argentina
An Argentine IP helps in South American matches and when you switch your Google Play country to Argentina. It won’t make Steam games cheaper anymore.

Matches and Google Play
Game servers. Valve’s network for Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 includes a Buenos Aires site that serves matches in the region. It’s the one to aim for if your friends or your team play from there. What a VPN does to ping is covered on our gaming page.
Google Play. Google moves your Play country only if you’re in the new country, have a payment method from there and haven’t changed country in the last 90 days. An Argentine IP matters for the first condition, though Google doesn’t say how it checks.
Steam. Steam switched Argentina to US dollar pricing on 20 November 2023, and the cheap peso prices went with it.
Argentina in Bebra
Type “Arg” into Search. Argentina is the only tile that matches, so tap it and Bebra connects.

After the Google Play switch
I’ve done everything, but Play still shows my old country
Google says a profile can take up to 48 hours to update, so give it a couple of days. Members of a Google family group can’t change their Play country at all, so check that too.
What happens to my balance and past purchases?
The balance stays linked to your old country and works again if you switch back. Google also warns that some books, films, games and apps may stop being available after the change.
