Streaming on Channel 4 is limited to the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The United Kingdom tile puts you inside that zone. Channel 4 can still refuse an address it knows belongs to a data centre.
The app works out where you are from your IP address, so a UK address gets you back in if you live outside Britain. Without one, BBC.com still links to live station streams, and some podcasts stay available. Like other streaming services, the BBC may block a data-centre IP.
The UK is a supported country for ChatGPT and Claude, so you can stay on the tile you use for Channel 4 and BBC Sounds.
In the English app the tile is labelled United Kingdom, so typing “UK” into Search brings up Ukraine instead. Type “United” and only the right tile is left. One tap on it connects Bebra.
Probably not. The BBC says UK listeners keep full access to the Sounds app while travelling abroad for up to a month. The block is for people based outside the UK.
Channel 4 has probably taken the server for a data-centre address. In Account → Settings, tap Find working server. The app retests the server and issues fresh IPs, which can take up to two minutes. Whether the new address gets through is up to Channel 4.
